Norma Jean Baker (or Marilyn Monroe as she was later known) sits on pumpkins in selvage jeans, chukka boots, and a demin jacket in the late 1940’s. Is it just me or is her outfit sixty years ahead of its time? With this fall’s current influx of bomber jackets, jean jacket, workman’s boots and plaid we are most definitely heading towards a cultural atmosphere - sartorially, at the very least - that harkens back to a time when America was unified and undivided. Is it - in these strange times for our country - entirely possible that this is a subconscious effort on our part to reclaim that mindset?
